Role Description
In this role, you will execute the design work that brings our enterprise web and custom projects to life: wireframes, interface design, and interactive prototypes, built to a high craft bar and ready for development. You bring UX thinking to your work, but you are not expected to originate the strategy. Often the direction is already set, and your job is to execute it cleanly, quickly, and well.
How you're set up depends on the project. On larger builds you'll work inside a design pod under the Senior UX Design Lead; on smaller ones you'll work independently, directly with the account lead or project manager against clearly scoped asks. Either way, you take direction from a brief or an established vision and produce designs developers can build without coming back with questions.
This is a contract engagement, scaled to project need. Fully remote and open to candidates anywhere, overlapping at least half of your working hours with Eastern Time for team collaboration.
What You'll Do
Design & Prototyping
You will produce wireframes, UI, and interactive prototypes in Figma, built in reusable, systematized components (atomic design) suited to headless builds. You build accessibility into your work from the start, not as an afterthought. You execute a set direction to a high, consistent standard.
Handoff & Delivery
You will produce clean, developer-ready handoffs with annotated behaviors (states, interactions, responsive) and traceability back to the requirements, so nothing falls through the gap and client QA surfaces no surprises. You'll stay available to developers through the build.
Working the Brief
You will work from the direction you're given, whether that's strategy set by the Senior UX Design Lead or a clearly scoped ask from the account lead or project manager, and turn it into concrete design proposals. You move fast and capably, and you flag gaps and questions early rather than guessing.
AI in the Workflow
You will use AI to speed up first-draft concepts and layout variations, generate and vary assets, and run design-QA against the component system.
Qualifications
Craft & Execution
You bring 5+ years of UX/UI design for web applications and custom projects, with real strength in wireframing, interface design, and prototyping. You work fluently in Figma, you understand headless and component-based builds, and you design in reusable, systematized components. You understand accessibility (WCAG) and design to meet it. You produce clean, annotated, developer-ready handoffs and document your design decisions in writing. You work fast and capably, turning a set direction into polished design without heavy oversight.
UX Thinking
You apply information architecture and user-flow thinking within a direction that's already set. You don't need to originate senior strategy, but you understand the reasoning behind the work, make sound craft decisions inside it, and propose options that carry the direction forward.
Collaboration
You work closely with the Senior UX Design Lead, account leads, project managers, and developers, and you can run independently on a clearly scoped ask. You take direction well, you flag gaps early, you do what you say and own the gaps, you carry low ego, and you're both kind and direct.
Strong Assets
Familiarity with our stack conventions (Storyblok, Contentful, Agility) and experience working within established design systems are strong assets.
Education
A degree in design, HCI, or a related field is a plus. A strong portfolio matters more.
