From Phnom Penh to Toronto:
Our Team’s Journey
After several failed attempts, our Cambodian team has finally secured their Canadian visas and we couldn’t be more excited. They will be joining us in Toronto for a full month, working side by side with the rest of the Dotfusion crew. Huge thanks to Brooke Finlay at Navio Immigration Inc. for guiding us through a long and complex process and helping make this milestone possible.
As a B-Corp certified digital agency in Canada, we believe that access to digital skills can shape futures and strengthen entire communities. A big part of our mission has always been to create meaningful opportunities for emerging talent in underserved regions. Over the past several years, we have invested in training, mentorship, and long-term roles for designers and developers in Cambodia because we have seen first-hand how capability building can open doors that would otherwise remain closed.
Bringing two of our Cambodian team members to Canada is much more than a company update. It is a tangible expression of what being a B-Corp means to us. It reflects our commitment to responsible hiring, global collaboration, and building pathways for people who do not typically have access to these kinds of international experiences. It also reinforces our belief that distributed teams can do incredible work when they are supported, respected, and given opportunities to grow.
This trip has lived on our roadmap for six years. Seeing it finally take shape feels meaningful not only for our team, but for the broader vision we have been working toward: creating career mobility, supporting global talent, and proving that a digital agency can play a real role in economic uplift. December in Toronto will definitely be a shock compared to Phnom Penh, but that contrast is part of the adventure and part of the learning.
We are excited to share updates and insights from their visit over the next month. Follow along as we document their experiences, learnings, and the collaborations that happen when our teams work side by side. This is a story about growth, connection, and continuing to open doors for digital talent around the world.
