If you’re in downtown Toronto, you can’t miss First Canadian Place. Soaring 72 storeys into the sky, FCP’s office towers are as much a part of the cityscape as the CN Tower. As one of Canada’s premier urban properties, FCP Brookfield’s offices are not only home to drivers of the economy, they are a destination for world-class art events, commerce and community.

We reimagined a website that showcases FCP’s multiple roles with beautiful, functional design

People come to FCP for myriad reasons, from shoppers looking for some retail therapy at top-tier stores to businesses searching for the perfect property to lease. Regular arts and cultural events draw in crowds while business professionals meet up for lunch in the building’s marketplace. We wanted to create a website that served as a one-stop shop while remaining clear, concise and easy to navigate.

UI / UX

Technology

For the third iteration of FCP’s website, Dotfusion created a methodology and framework for moving existing and new content onto a new platform while integrating third-party sites including Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and MappedIn.

We re-imported content to suit a more headless architecture in AgilityCMS and built a modular front-end system in React mounted in Java Script with a number of serverless functions that enabled us to construct real-world interactions including kiosk content, contests and events using QR codes and advanced journey orchestration for subscribers. The result is a website that is as easy to use for the consumer as it is for the FCP team on the back end.

Strategy

Web presence is a key element of any brand design, and we knew it was crucial to align with FCP’s recent rebrand as we reimagined the site. Along with a standard mega menu, we presented users with a secondary menus system that clearly categorized the five main paths a user could take while adhering to the aesthetics of FCP’s new brand.

Our project management experts kept the FCP team apprised of workflow through weekly meetings and ensured the project was delivered on time, on budget and at top quality. As part of the process, the Dotfusion team provided training workshops, documentation and how-to videos to ensure the client had full control over the platform.

Design

We highlighted FCP’s many roles in a seamless, easy-to-navigate, user-friendly design that perfectly aligned with the company’s new brand aesthetics.

Dotfusion orchestrated advanced tenant and available space integrations, maps and wayfinding solutions, kiosk and ancillary display integrations, promotional tools, advanced merchant listings that allow merchants to present unique content and parking and tenant services software integration to present a highly creative, unique experience to draw people to the property.
